Job summary

Durango 4C Council/Tri-County Head Start is seeking a Toddler Teacher Aide to support teachers in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment for preschoolers.

The role involves assisting with daily routines, supervising children, and helping with social, emotional, and developmental growth. The schedule is full-time, 35 hours weekly, with pay range $17.56-$19.02 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain CDA within first year of hire.
• Background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Support Toddler Teachers in daily classroom routines.
• Supervise children and support social, emotional, and developmental needs.
• Float to other classrooms and substitute during Teacher breaks.

Toddler Teacher Aide

The Teacher Aide supports Toddler Teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This position helps with daily classroom routines, supervision, child engagement, and support for children's social, emotional, and developmental needs.

The Teacher Aide will have a base classroom and will also support the center by substituting in other classrooms and floating for Teacher breaks as needed.

Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Pay Range: $17.56-$19.02 per hour, depending on education and experience

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential within the first year of hire. Tri-County Head Start provides training support, CDA coaching, and opportunities to grow into teacher-qualified positions
• Previous experience working in early childhood education preferred
• Background checks are required for hire
