Job summary

Celebree School is hiring for a full-time teacher to foster a safe, engaging classroom environment in Pennsylvania. The role includes planning age-appropriate lessons, maintaining displays and parent boards, and guiding students through activities with positive discipline.

You will collaborate with an assistant teacher and director to ensure smooth daily operations and open communication with families, supporting child development and learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to early childhood education or human services.
• 30 credit hours in relevant education plus 1 year of child experience.
• Associate’s degree with 2 years of child experience.
• Associate’s degree with 30 credits in relevant education.

Responsibilities

• Manages classroom ensuring compliance with state regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for children, parents and visitors.
• Maintains attractive classroom displays and an informative Parent Board updated regularly.
• Creates and implements weekly lesson plans that align with Celebree curriculum and themes.
• Assists and supervises children during activities; counsels using positive discipline techniques.
• Ensures classroom appearance, cleanliness and safety.
• Completes daily paperwork such as reports and attendance records.
• Supports and directs assistant teacher to keep classroom functioning smoothly.
• Communicates with parents with updates on child development and classroom happenings.
• Identifies opportunities or problems and coordinates with director to resolve.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or human services

Bachelor’s degree with 30 credit hours in relevant field plus 1 year of experience with children

Associate’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or human services plus 2 years of experience

Associate’s degree with 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development or related field

Essential Functions:

• Manages classroom ensuring compliance with all Pennsylvania STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ~ regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• rovides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Maintains attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational and informative Parent Board that is updated regularly.
• Creates and implements thorough, timely lesson plans that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with weekly themes and Celebree’s curriculum; manages effective classroom transitions.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques.
• Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained.
• Accurately completes all classroom paperwork, e.g., Daily Reports, accident reports, attendance records.
• Provides support and direction to assistant teacher to ensure the classroom functions in an orderly manner.
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom and center and works with the assistant teacher and/or director to resolve.

Requirements

Physical Demands:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds.

Education/Experience:

A Teacher shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.
• An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
• An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services
