Job summary

Celebree Schools in Severna Park, MD seeks a qualified educator to manage a classroom, ensure compliance with regulations, and create engaging lessons for children. You will maintain a welcoming environment for families and provide timely updates on child development.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, keeping displays current, documenting daily reports, and collaborating with team members to address opportunities or challenges in the classroom.

Qualifications

• 90 clock hours in Child Development and Curriculum Planning plus 45 clock hours of Infant/Toddler Training OR 90 clock hours Infant/Toddler Development and Curriculum.
• AA degree in Early Childhood Education or higher preferred.
• 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents and the public if the candidate has had no college coursework.
• MD state credential Level 5.

Responsibilities

• Manages classroom ensuring compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Maintains attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and a Parent Board updated regularly.
• Creates and implements thorough, timely lesson plans aligned with weekly themes and Celebree’s curriculum; manages effective classroom transitions.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children using positive discipline techniques.
• Ensures appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are maintained.
• Completes classroom paperwork (daily reports, accident reports, attendance records).
• Communicates effectively with parents, greeting by name, addressing concerns promptly, and providing regular updates on development and happenings.
• Identifies opportunities or problems in classroom/school and works with staff to resolve.

Job Duties:

• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques.
• Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained.
• Accurately completes all classroom paperwork, e.g., daily reports, accident reports, attendance records.
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom and school and works with the assistant teacher and/or school director to resolve.

Requirements

Physical Demands:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to

functions of the job. The job requires frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting

and carrying; ability to lift 50

pounds.

Education/Experience:

90 clock hrs in Child Development and Curriculum Planning plus 45 clock hrs of
