Job summary

The Learning Experience - South Lyon Area, MI is seeking an experienced Toddler Lead Teacher to create an engaging classroom where young children can explore, communicate, and develop confidence through hands-on learning and play.

We offer a full-time Monday-Friday schedule with pay of $18-$21 per hour based on experience and qualifications, plus health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous professional childcare or early childhood experience required.
• Toddler classroom experience strongly preferred.
• CDA or ECE coursework/credential preferred.
• Must meet Michigan requirements to serve as Lead Caregiver.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Toddler classroom activities and routines.
• Implement LEAP Curriculum.
• Engage children through sensory play, art, music, movement, stories, and language.
• Encourage communication, independence, and positive social interactions.
• Support diapering, toileting, meals, rest time, and classroom transitions.
• Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate classroom management.
• Observe and document children's developmental progress.
• Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers.
• Build positive relationships and communicate regularly with families.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
