Toddler Classroom Teacher I: Early Head Start
Head Start is seeking a creative, organized individual to join our teaching team in meeting the physical, cognitive, and social/emotional needs of toddlers enrolled in the Early Head Start center-based program. As a Classroom Teacher I you will:

  • Work with the Classroom Teacher II to develop, coordinate, and implement daily lesson plans, classroom activities, and outreach events
  • Guide children as they learn new skills including feeding, toileting, and self-care
  • Foster a welcoming and safe learning environment that promotes safe exploration for children and encourages parents to be active participants in their child’s education
  • Assist in supervision of classroom teaching staff, volunteers, and support management in ensuring compliance with day care licensing and Head Start Performance Standards
This is a year-round position.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or a related field with a focus on infant and toddler development; one year of experience in an early childhood program; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay Range Guide:
  • Standard Start Rate - education and experience meet job requirements
  • Advanced Start Rate - education and experience exceed job requirements (subject to approval)
