Job summary

The Goddard School of Macomb (Wellington Center), MI is seeking an Assistant Teacher who will support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging activities and maintaining a safe, stimulating classroom environment. You will bring your energy, warmth and creativity to our collaborative team dedicated to early childhood learning.

Responsibilities include implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, guiding social, emotional and cognitive development, preparing materials, and communicating with families

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; associate or bachelor in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience in licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Empathy and compassion for young children.
• Capable of working without close supervision.
• Understanding of child development basics.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily care.
• Pass state background checks and meet licensing requirements.

• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.

• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment.
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
