Job summary

UB Child Care Center in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Toddler Assistant Teacher for a full-time, day-shift role on a university campus. You will support the Lead Teacher with activities, supervise toddlers, and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and relevant childcare experience; an associate degree or CDA is preferred. Benefits include health, dental, vision, PTO, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous professional experience in a childcare classroom, preferably with toddlers.
• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA credential preferred.
• Must be patient, nurturing, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must meet physical demands of working with young children, including lifting up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, and lesson implementation.
• Provide a safe, nurturing environment for toddlers.
• Supervise children during meals, playtime, outdoor activities, and rest periods.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and other daily care routines.
• Encourage children's development across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom.
• Follow NYS childcare regulations and center policies.
• Work cooperatively with staff to maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Communicate professionally with children, families, and coworkers.

Toddler Assistant Teacher – Full-Time

Pay: $16.25–$17.50 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day Shift

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our team at our childcare center located on a university campus. Our center is NAEYC accredited and participates in Quality Stars NY.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with young children, have a positive attitude, and be committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, and lesson implementation.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for toddlers.
• Supervise children throughout the day, including during meals, playtime, outdoor activities, and rest periods.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and other daily care routines.
• Encourage children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom.
• Follow all NYS childcare regulations and center policies.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members to ensure a positive classroom environment.

Schedule

• Full-Time: 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday
• Must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
• No nights or weekends!
