Job summary

North American Stamping Group is hiring for a Tool & Die/Machining role on the 2nd shift. The company operates eight facilities across North America and values growth, training, and hands-on development.

Essential duties include tooling setup, maintenance, and collaboration with engineering. A high school diploma is required, with CAD/office software skills and some tooling experience preferred. The role may involve overtime and a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 52 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot tooling problems at presses.
  • Requisition supplies and spare parts for tool room and dies and keep areas organized.
  • Maintain clean work areas and assist with preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Interpret prints for tooling modifications and work with Engineers to reflect changes.
  • Willing to perform overtime and other duties as needed.

Sign On Bonus - This position is eligible to receive a $1,000 sign on bonus (paid in installments) after you have worked 52 weeks!

2nd Shift can make up to $45.65/hr.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Work from tool room schedule to ensure that production tooling and equipment is ready to meet customer requirements

  • Troubleshoot tooling problems at presses
  • Work with all employees to continuously improve quality and production
  • Work on production equipment when necessary to maintain production
  • Requisition supplies and spare parts for tool room and dies and keep these areas organized
  • Maintain clean work areas
  • Work with outside tradesman as required
  • Available for overtime as required
  • Available for training as required
  • Suggest methods of improvement (Continuous Improvement Plan)
  • Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, &/or improvements
  • Work with Engineers to create &/or modify prints to reflect changes
  • Perform Preventive maintenance by assignment
  • Willing to accept other additional job duties from next level leader
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • Required - High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred - Certified Toolmaker or 5 years experience in Tool and Die field
  • Would be nice - Apprenticeship Program completion
Experience and skill requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years Tool and Die maker
  • Self-motivated, self-directed and able to make and meet specific goals in the Tooling Department
  • Willing to learn or possess computer skills including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD
  • Willing to learn simple electronics for sensor program assistance
Language Skills:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English).

Training:
  • TQPS Continuous Improvement training
  • Mistake Proofing Philosophy, Forklift Certification
  • Overhead Crane Certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

Plant: Experience in various types of manufacturing environments.

Travel: Minimal
