Memphis, TN – Pay range: $55,000 – $76,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Administers and develops subject‑specific assessments to evaluate student competency and to develop individual learning plans.
Advises parents or legal guardians on student progress, expectations, achievements, and methods for improvement.
Assesses student progress toward standards and provides feedback to students, parents, and administration.
Collaborates with instructional staff, parents, and community resources to improve overall student outcomes and achieve classroom objectives.
Provides counseling to students to improve performance, health status, problem‑solving skills, and personal issues.
Demonstrates and differentiates instructional methods for effective programs addressing individual student needs.
Instructs students in mathematics to improve academic success.
Manages student behavior to maintain a safe and optimal learning environment.
Monitors students across school environments to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
Participates in meetings and professional development activities to convey or gather information necessary for performance.
Prepares written materials (grades, lesson plans, correspondence, quizzes, attendance records) for documentation of progress and mandated requirements.
Reports incidents (e.g., fights, suspected abuse, substance abuse, harassment, zero‑tolerance offenses) to maintain safety and adhere to state law and board policies.
Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns.
Directs teacher assistants, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers for an effective classroom program.
Supports other classroom teachers in implementing curriculum and individual student plans.
Demonstrates and models integration of technology in all curriculum areas.
Follows a professional technology development plan and seeks opportunities to grow professionally.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and endorsement in the grade/subject taught with a valid Tennessee teaching certificate.
Highly qualified teacher.
Physically and mentally able to perform required duties.
Governed by the Tennessee Code Annotated and Tennessee Board of Education regulations.
