Job summary

Army National Guard TMDE Maintenance Support Specialists diagnose and repair precision instruments to ensure accurate readings of equipment and weapon system components. The role maintains range finders, telescopes, ballistic computers, transits, levels, telemeters, and gyros.

You will train through 10 weeks Basic Training and 34 weeks Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction, earning a paycheck and tuition assistance as you learn.

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Adjust and repair weapon-aiming devices, such as range finders, telescopes, and ballistic computers
• Repair and calibrate engineering instruments, such as transits, levels, telemeters, and stereoscopes
• Repair gyrocompasses, watches, clocks, and timers
