Job summary

JCB in the United States seeks an Assembly Team Member I to perform labor operations, assemble sub-assemblies, and operate cranes with standard tools. You will follow defined processes and support safety and quality initiatives on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Must pass drug screen, background check and any pre-employment tests.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years manufacturing experience preferred or be able to pass mechanical assessment.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills required.
  • Detail oriented and self-directed; able to multi-task with urgency.
  • Flexible schedule with overtime as needed.
  • Ability to operate forklift, cranes, manipulators and assembly equipment.
  • Must wear PPE as required and read engineering drawings.
  • Able to lift 35 lbs repetitively and perform repetitive motions.
  • Able to stand, stoop, bend and climb as part of duties.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
  • Perform labor operations assembling and sub-assembling parts using hand/power tools.
  • Operate overhead cranes, manipulators and assembly equipment.
  • Learn standardized assembly processes and contribute to safety/quality improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in defect elimination.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure compliance to company health and safety procedures.
  • Perform labor operations such as assembling and sub-assembling parts, components and equipment utilizing hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, manipulators, and assembly equipment.
  • Learn standardized processes for all assembly operations
  • Apply Problem Solving Tools and Techniques to assist Assembly in elimination of defects.
  • Advise/Recommend processes and procedures to improve safety and quality.
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by the Manager
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employment tests as applicable.

  • Ability to operate a forklift, pneumatic or various hand tools and/or heavy equipment or the demonstrated ability to learn
  • Ability to operate cranes, manipulators, and assembly equipment
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
  • Conversant with Engineering Drawings
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. repetitively
  • Ability to use repetitive motions
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and climb
Job Conditions
  • Both office environment and occasionally manufacturing/factory environment
  • Subject to noise and temperature changes
