Job summary

JCB North America, Pooler, GA, is seeking an Assembly Team Member to perform hands-on assembly of heavy-duty construction equipment on the 2nd shift (4 PM–3 AM, Mon-Thu with possible Friday). You will follow engineering drawings, use torque specs, and work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Ideal candidates possess mechanical aptitude, detail orientation, and the ability to collaborate with a cross-functional production team to meet targets and uphold quality and lean manufacturing

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to drawings and work instructions.
  • Install mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components as required.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely; maintain pace and quality.
  • Inspect assemblies and identify defects; participate in root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain production records and documentation.

Position Purpose

The Assembly Team Member is responsible for performing hands-on assembly operations to build high

quality, heavy-duty construction equipment at JCB North America. This role plays a critical part in

ensuring production targets are met while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and

operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

This role is for 2nd shift with hours of 4p-3a Monday-Thursday with some Fridays as needed.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

Assembly & Production Execution

  • Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and final equipment in accordance with engineering drawings,
  • work instructions, and torque specifications
  • Perform installation of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components as required
  • Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and specialized assembly equipment
  • Maintain production pace and efficiency while ensuring accuracy and quality

Quality & Inspection

  • Inspect assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report defects, inconsistencies, or build issues
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve product quality

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Maintain proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Support a safety-first culture by identifying hazards and reporting unsafe conditions
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives (CI) and lean manufacturing practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workflow
  • Support implementation of 5S standards and workplace organization initiatives
  • Work collaboratively within a cross-functional production team
  • Support team members and assist in other areas as needed to meet production goals
  • Communicate effectively with team leads, supervisors, and quality personnel

Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately complete production documentation, checklists, and build records
  • Maintain accountability for work performed and quality standards achieved
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, or production environments
  • Experience working with heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and torque tools
  • Familiarity with quality standards and production metrics
  • Experience working to production targets or takt time environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality and precision
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a manufacturing environment
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times

Job Conditions

  • Both office environment and occasionally manufacturing/factory environment.
  • Subject to noise and temperature changes.
