The Maintenance Specialist V performs advanced construction, restoration, renovation, and maintenance work, including building repair, electrical, electronics, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, auto mechanics, and painting. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment repair, supervising maintenance activities, and leading projects. The role requires working independently with minimal supervision and may involve working beyond standard hours or being on-call.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, plus four (4) years of full-time maintenance or related construction experience. Experience should include skills in welding, plumbing, automotive repair, landscaping, painting, HVAC, carpentry, electrical/electronic repair, or similar fields.
Preferred Qualifications: 100 hours of documented maintenance continuing education and certification in a major skill area such as HVAC, plumbing, welding, or construction.
Substitutions include vocational education or college coursework, which can replace experience on a credit-hour basis. Degree or coursework must be from an accredited institution.
Must be able to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting (over 45 lbs.), climbing, pulling, pushing, bending, and working in various environmental conditions. Accommodations will be provided as needed.
