Overview and Responsibilities
Paramount Global’s Sports & Special Events IT team seeks a dynamic professional to lead our team. This role involves crafting, deploying, and supporting production networks and systems for high-profile live events. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for innovation and high standards.
Responsibilities Include
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead the IT team in crafting, deploying, and supporting on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-based production networks and systems.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Facilitate information sharing and provide technical training for new systems and solutions across teams.
- Technical Broadcast Planning: Plan and implement network design, capacity planning, and contingency/redundancy planning for top-tier live events such as NFL, NCAA Football & Basketball, PGA Tour golf, and awards shows.
- Network Infrastructure Management: Configure and maintain network infrastructure and other production systems and equipment.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure IT infrastructure aligns with Paramount Technology and InfoSec standards and protocols.
- Documentation and Presentation: Write clear business narratives, including proposed strategies, SOPs, and standard process documents, and present them to leadership.
- Event Technical Summaries: Provide technical summaries of major events, capture concerns, and prioritize issues for resolution.
- Innovative Solutions: Demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, excellent judgment, and communication skills, and deliver innovative solutions while building a capable team.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology domains such as systems engineering, infrastructure, networking, security, data & analytics.
- 6+ years configuring, deploying, and supporting Cisco networking products.
- 6+ years administering Windows, MacOS, and Linux systems.
Additional Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related fields.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to communicate complex principles in non-technical terms and resolve production issues through support methods.
- Broadcast TV Expertise: Extensive experience with broadcast standards, workflow, and technologies including routing, switching, encoding, audio processing, and distribution.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of distributed systems design, core routing, switching, and troubleshooting.
- Networking Skills: Understanding of Enterprise and Service Provider networking, including OSPF, BGP, VLAN, QoS, and others.
- Fiber Optic Cabling: Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting fiber optic cables.
- Network Automation: Experience with automation tools like Ansible and Git.
- Broadcast Systems: Experience with systems like ENPS, EVS, LiveU, and others.
- Documentation Skills: Ability to develop user documentation and diagrams.
- Monitoring Platforms: Experience with Nagios, New Relic, or similar.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.
- Operational Support: Provide on-call support for 24x7 systems and participate in incident resolution.
