Sylvania seeks a dedicated paraeducator to provide personal care, instructional support, and tutoring for special needs students within the district classrooms. You will assist teachers and contribute to individual student education and positive behavioral support programs.

Qualifications

• Pass a Michigan DOE approved skills test.
• Ability to work with disadvantaged or special needs students.

• Basic computer literacy.

Job Description:

Provide personal care, instructional assistance, and tutoring, primarily to special needs students. Assists teachers in the district classrooms by performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individual student education and positive behavioral support programs.

Qualifications:

• Pass a skills test approved by the Michigan Department of Education.
• Ability to work well with children who are disadvantaged or who have special needs
• Willing to work one-on-one with a student
• Must be flexible and self-directed in a variety of situations
• Must demonstrate patience and compassion
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with young children.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Organization skills.
