We are seeking an expert Python developer to work within the Video Delivery and Experience squad, specializing in multi-CDN configuration, orchestration, traffic steering, and observability. The ideal candidate will have a strong proficiency in modern Python concepts, experience with distributed systems and async processing, familiarity with cloud environments, and a collaborative problem-solving approach. Exposure to CDN or streaming video is a plus. The work involves developing next-generation multi-CDN orchestration products to support live events and large VOD brands like Paramount+ and CBS.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain high-quality, modular Python code
2. Design and implement APIs for data integration and propagation, handling failures gracefully
3. Review pull requests, ensuring code quality with testing, typing, and documentation
4. Build observable systems with logging, monitoring, and alerting

Required Technical Skills

• Expertise in maintainable, modern Python code
• Solid understanding of async Python patterns, including asyncio, threading, and multiprocessing; knowledge of Celery is a plus
• Experience with Python annotations, type hints, and module structuring
• Ability to write and review unit tests (pytest)
• Understanding of fundamental development constructs like locking and mutability
• Proficiency in SQL queries
• Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, subnets, OSI layers

Tooling & Ecosystem

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, OCI)
• Experience building REST APIs, preferably with FastAPI and Celery

Additional Qualifications

• Knowledge of Go or Rust
• Understanding of CDN or MultiCDN architectures
• Knowledge of ABR streaming concepts
• Experience building observable systems and API orchestration in multi-CDN environments
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
• Experience designing fault-tolerant distributed systems

Paramount+ offers a comprehensive benefits package, including salary range $124,000 - $170,000, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability benefits, tuition assistance, and PTO. The position is bonus eligible and open to various locations with salary depending on experience, location, and other factors.
