Job summary

Title Resource Network seeks a Junior Abstractor to support preparation and maintenance of abstracts for Iowa real estate. You will research public land records, review legal documents, and compile accurate title information under experienced guidance.

Develop knowledge of Iowa title standards, recording practices, and abstracting procedures while assisting with new abstracts and related products. Full-time, office-based role in Iowa.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to learn Iowa title standards and abstracting procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Research county land records and online databases to locate documents affecting ownership and title history.
• Summarize deeds, mortgages, easements, and judgments into comprehensive abstracts.
• Verify legal descriptions, ownership information, and recording data for accuracy.
• Maintain organized records of title searches in the title management system.
• Collaborate with Abstractors and Title Examiners to resolve routine questions.
• Assist with client inquiries related to title findings in a professional manner.
