Maintenance Team Lead 1st Shift Assembly & Laser

Role Summary

Works with supervisor to help manage and oversee team members to accomplish daily safety, quality, and manufacturing goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in developing work instructions, training on processes, and supervise daily operations.
  2. Be prepared to step into the supervisor’s position during sickness and vacations.
  3. Assist with software and documentation, including approving Attendance on Demand and SAP.
  4. Improve department communication through turnover activity and interpersonal relations.
  5. Track inventory and order as necessary.
  6. Increase department productivity by managing troubleshooting, press call, and PM activities through proper personnel distribution.
  7. Contribute to 5S and housekeeping of the entire plant, including being on call for oil spills, environmental issues, fluids in the oil room, scrap system, and other areas as appropriate.
  8. Complete miscellaneous duties and projects as directed by your supervisor/manager.
  9. Perform any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.

Knowledge and Education

  • HS diploma/GED + advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs.
  • Prefer USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training.
  • At least 5 years of employment in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be able to drive a forklift and maintain certification.
  • Must be able to work at heights, including overhead cranes, ceiling lights, parking lot lights, tunnels, and pits.
  • Must have the strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
  • Basic electrical knowledge from 12V DC to 600V AC.
  • Basic carpentry skills, including painting, drywall repair, ceiling work, and office building.
  • Problem-solving skills to recognize and resolve machine malfunctions and quality issues.

Additional Information

  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Frequent requirements include standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing stairs, talking, and hearing.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to listen and understand spoken information.
