Job summary

Lawrence Orr Elementary in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Tutor, Title I (20 hrs) to support students through a supplemental instructional program under supervision.

The role involves delivering lesson plans, monitoring student progress, and maintaining a safe learning environment in compliance with Board of Education policies. This is a part-time, hourly position for 9 months at CMS facilities in Charlotte.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work with small groups or one-on-one groups.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
• Deliver educational lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
• Monitor and evaluate student progress to address individual needs
• Provide supervision of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
• Perform related duties as assigned
