Job summary

Carrollton is seeking a Title I Instructional Dean to support at‑risk students across RTI tiers 1–3, aligning with campus leadership in a comprehensive MTSS framework.

The role focuses on building instructional capacity, data‑driven interventions, professional development, and collaboration with teachers to improve student outcomes. This position is on-site, with duties spanning district initiatives and SPED referrals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Education
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject areas
  • Desire to become an administrator or instructional coach/specialist

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of RTI
  • Support at-risk student identification (academic & behavioral)
  • Maintain systems for progress monitoring of all identified at-risk students.
  • Oversee, schedule, & facilitate RTI Meetings
  • Create, organize, and lead professional development for campus
  • Lead PLC and weekly data meetings
  • Facilitate and coach the development weekly instructional plans
  • Conduct observation and feedback cycles
  • Collect and analyze student, campus, and district data
  • Mentor and support new teachers
  • Lead and support campus and/or district initiatives
  • Organize the campus-wide tutorial program
  • Analyze student benchmark data to determine appropriate interventions
  • Facilitate SPED Referrals
  • Serve and assist with NWEA MAP diagnostic testing.

Education

Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Education
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject areas
Desire to become an administrator or instructional coach/specialist

Job description

Job Title: Title I Instructional Dean Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Campus Principal Pay Grade: AP 3 - 197 Days

Dept./School: Assigned Campus Date Revised: July 22, 2026

Primary Purpose: To support the campus in meeting the needs of at-risk students through supporting Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 instruction.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Education
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject areas
  • Desire to become an administrator or instructional coach/specialist

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years of teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Texas Instructional Leadership

The Title I Instructional Dean shall:

  1. Lead the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of Response to Intervention (RTI)
  2. Support at-risk student identification (academic & behavioral)
  3. Maintain systems for progress monitoring of all identified at-risk students.
  4. Oversee, schedule, & facilitate RTI Meetings
  5. Create, organize, and lead professional development for campus
  6. Lead PLC and weekly data meetings
  7. Facilitate and coach the development weekly instructional plans

Tools/Equipment Used:

Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture:

Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion:

Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of a mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting:

Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Mental Demands:

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

Other: Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures; Other duties as assigned.
