Job description

Position: Escrow Officer Texas (Must have Texas Escrow Officer License)-Remote Role

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Skills

  • Demonstrates ability to handle a Real Estate transaction from receipt of contract through disbursement
  • Knowledge of title insurance, regulatory guidelines, legal documents, and real property law
  • Driven to efficiently use technology to streamline processes
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Prior ResWare or similar title and escrow production software experience

Responsibilities

Examination / Curative

  • Examines title commitments for accuracy and identify any requirements, defects and exceptions and work to clear the issues timely while effectively notating all systems to track progress.
  • Ordering title, payoffs, estoppels, and other searches and documentation
  • Reviewing title commitments, sales contracts and other related documents relating to residential real estate transactions for compliance and accuracy

Preparation

  • Assemble, prepare, and review closing documents
  • Prepare, distribute, and file final closing documents
  • Preparing Closing Disclosures, settlement statements, conveyance and other settlement documents necessary to complete closing transactions
  • Balancing the closing disclosure or settlement statements

Closing

  • Schedule, coordinate and conduct closings
  • Obtaining and preparing information needed to close a transaction
  • Working closely and coordinating closing transactions with clients, lenders, Realtors, staff, and any other relevant parties to ensure a proper timely closing transaction
  • Prepare closing disclosure/HUD and other closing documentation
  • Confirm all funds are collected, all appropriate documents are checked for accuracy, signatures are collected, and acknowledgements and legal descriptions are correct.
  • Completes closing transaction documents by assembling documents; reviewing papers with parties; explaining provisions and procedures; answering questions; checking documents for completeness and accuracy; obtaining signatures

Disbursement

  • Oversee the issuance of checks, bills and statements, and receipts associated with the closing process.
  • Establish escrow accounts by depositing funds and maintaining records
  • Closes escrow account by balancing and disbursing funds

Education

  • BA or equivalent work experience
  • Current Notary
  • Current and active TX Escrow Officer license
