Job summary

Meridian Title Corporation in Indiana seeks a Title Examiner to join our team across 40+ offices in Indiana or Southwest Michigan. You will review search packages, ensure correct chain of title, legal descriptions, liens, and taxes, and prepare title product packages for delivery.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 2 years of title experience; prior real estate or title industry work is preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of title experience preferred.
• Prior experience in the real estate and/or title industry strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review search packages to ensure the correct property was searched.
• Review the examined product to ensure the examiner reviewed the chain of title, legal description, open mortgages, unreleased judgments/liens, and taxes.
• Review closing protection letters (CPL) for correct lender information based on partner notes or order notes.
• Review invoices and ensure the costs are correct based on partner notes or order information regarding discounts.
• Check for clerical/typographical errors in title products.
• Combine all prepared documents with title commitment into a title product package and deliver product.

We currently have an opening for a Title Examiner, who can work from any one of our 40+ offices in Indiana or Southwest Michigan.
