Job description

AmTrust Financial Services Inc., a multi-national property and casualty insurance holding company, is looking for an Accountant lll to join the Title Insurance Finance Team. This position will be responsible for the day-to day accounting activities for various title insurance companies and / or title agency operations. These tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following, plus other assignments when needed.

Responsibilities :

  • Cash application as agency payments are received.
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual accounting for a title insurance company including, but not limited to, journal entries, reconciliations and variance analyses.
  • Accounting for internally owned title agencies including, but not limited to, journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations / eliminations and variance analyses.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and supplemental filings for regulatory bodies.
  • Preparation of internal and / or external audit support workpapers.
  • Coordination with IT to automate system reports to increase the efficiency of the financial reporting process.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Oracle knowledge a plus
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, critical thinker
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel a plus

The salary range for this role is $100K-110K per year. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
