Qualifications

Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives! Our mission at TDS is to save lives through organ and tissue donation, and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work. We are hiring for the role of Tissue Recovery Technician to coordinate the technical aspects of recovering donated human tissue.

Tennessee Donor Services is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) within Tennessee and a member of the DCI Donor Services family.

For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our approach allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities.

DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • The Tissue Recovery Technicians work around the clock as a team to recover human tissue for donation.
  • Responsibilities include recovery, packaging, labeling of human tissue, surgical prep, aseptic recovery, donor restoration, and decontamination of the recovery area and instruments.
  • Shifts are 12-hour rotating shifts from 8-8 (AM & PM) following a two-week rotation.
  • Training includes instructor-led labs, training modules, and active training.
  • Being part of a team that honors a donor’s gift is rewarding.
  • New employees must have their first COVID-19 vaccine dose by start date or provide proof of vaccination.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting pay: $21.00 for Tissue Technician I, with opportunities for advancement.
  • Technician levels and pay increases within 12 months.
  • Additional shift pay for evening shifts.
  • Up to 176 hours of PTO and 72 hours of Sick Time in the first year.
  • Health plans, 403(b) plan, insurance benefits, wellness programs, and discounts.
