Job summary

Fall Creek is seeking a Tissue Culture Lab Supervisor in Lowell, Oregon to lead a global team of Lab Technicians and drive weekly TC lab activities. The role emphasizes QC, data reporting, and safe, efficient operations.

You will plan production schedules, mentor staff, manage SOPs, and collaborate across departments to meet quality and delivery goals for blueberry propagation projects.

Qualifications

• BS in biological sciences or 4+ years of related experience.
• 2+ years of lab supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of tissue culture techniques and GLP/GMP.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to work with colleagues across cultures and languages.

Responsibilities

• Production planning: Coordinating production schedules, inventory management and collaborating with various teams to meet production goals efficiently.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, & develop staff to build a skilled & motivated team. Sets goals with employees, identifies professional development needs; and coordinates cross-trains employees. Evaluates employee performance and provides feedback.
• Lab Operations: Oversee daily TC lab activities, follow SOPs, comply with regulations & successful distribution of products to global sites. Optimizing stock levels to meet demand.
• Fulfill Requests within the Quality & Time Targets: Provide technical expertise and uphold rigorous quality control standards in processes and outputs. Scheduling and adhering to global and domestic specifications according to established policies.
• Research: Ensure TC plants meet testing requirements including DNA QC and pathogen testing. Perform and assist in experiments for variety optimization
• Equipment & Resources: Maintain lab equipment, implement and document routine maintenance & cost-effective use of resources.
• Documentation & Communication: Create and maintain reports related to direct report's performance, plant performance and health, and production schedule. Communicate with regulatory agencies & external partners. Report any issues to manager.
• Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with other departments to align goals; foster innovation & process improvements. Excellent problem-solving skills and exercises independent judgment.
• Leadership & Culture: Drive strategic planning, uphold Fall Creek's values, safeguard proprietary varieties, ensure a respectful work environment.
