Job summary

PETE'S TIRE BARN INC in Gardner, MA is seeking a Tire Technician to service passenger, light truck, loader, farm, ATV and lawn and garden tires. You will perform tire repairs, replacements, and wheel service, remove mounted assemblies, and ensure proper paperwork with every service.

The role requires safety-conscious work, accurate tagging and invoicing, daily maintenance of tools, and a customer‑focused mindset to keep service priorities aligned with what customers need.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Driver's License and clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Change tires on passenger, light truck, loader, farm, ATV and lawn & garden tires.
• Perform tire repairs, replacements, and wheel service.
• Remove mounted tire assemblies from vehicles and re-mount as needed.
• Recognize repairable tires and discard non-repairable ones.
• Record all work accurately on tags, work orders and invoices.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness while using tools and equipment.
• Report equipment needs and any unsafe conditions to management.
• Perform daily maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Review service orders for completeness before handing to store manager.
• Ensure proper paperwork leaves with products.
• Remain flexible as priorities shift to meet customer needs.

Job Location: Gardner - Gardner, MA 01440

Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 Hourly

Responsibilities

• Responsible for changing primarily passenger, light truck, loader, farm, ATV and/or lawn and garden tires
• Perform tire repairs, replacements, and general service to tires and wheels
• Remove or replace mounted tire assembly from vehicles
• Ability to recognize repairable tires and properly perform repair and discard tires that are not repairable
• Communicate all work performed via legible writing on tags, work orders and/or invoices
• Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
• Use all provided safety equipment such as gloves, jack stands, wheel chocks, air cages, safety glasses and communicate equipment needs
• Report all tools or equipment that need repair or that are broken and report all unsafe actions, problems or abnormal situations to the store manager or safety manager
• Perform daily maintenance of tools and equipment
• Review service work orders for complete information such as required customer information, repairs, mounts, new tires, valves before giving to the store manager
• Ensure that all products leave with proper paperwork
• As needed, perform miscellaneous job duties to ensure prompt services to our customer
• Willling to make customer satisfaction a number one priority, must be flexible and understand that job priorities will constantly change due to customer needs
• Equipment: Capable of operating lift gates, service tools, air compressors, hydraulic jacks, air guns, air gauges, mounting and balancing machines, and computer and office equipment

Physical Demands

Exerts 75 to 125 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly; frequently reaches, handles, and identifies colors; occasionally climbs, balances; occasionally stoops and kneels.
