Summary
Provides proper tire inspections, repairs and replacements on the existing operational fleet. Reports to the Fleet Maintenance Manager and Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
Job Description
- Performs repairs on tires only and must have and/or be able to pass TIA certification.
- Dismounts and remounts tires and wheels securely on vehicles and equipment.
- Completes daily inspections of all wheel positions on vehicles and equipment.
- Performs safety inspections and/or repairs of DVIR reported issues.
- Operates all related equipment and tools as trained.
- Maintains proper housekeeping of assigned work area daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or GED.
- 1-2 years’ experience in heavy truck equipment & light duty truck tire maintenance.
- Must be able to work overtime if needed.
- Perform all tasks safely and in accordance with applicable OSHA rules and regulations.
- Consistently behaves in a manner that is appropriate and professional.
- Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.
- Valid Class C Driver's License.
- Acceptable Driver's Record.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English / Spanish.
- Trade School Certification.
- ASE Certification.
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, and smelling continuously.
- Problem solving, oral communication, analytical ability, concentration, exposure to heavy machinery, eye/hand coordination, and handling continuously.
- Bending, reaching, stretching, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. continuously.
- Exposure to unprotected heights occasionally.
- Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet slippery surfaces, hot/cold conditions, and noise continuously.
- Works inside and outside.
Salary and Hours
Salary: $25.46 hourly. Hours: Monday – Friday 3:00PM – 11:30AM.
