Job summary

Suburban Automotive Service in Tampa is seeking a Tire Technician to mount and balance wheelsets for GM and Ford dealerships. You will also dismount returned rims and ensure clean, safe operation of all equipment.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm with a starting pay of $24 per hour based on experience. HS diploma, reliable transport, and mechanical aptitude are required. Equal opportunity employer with focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Pull wheels and tires from pull sheet.
  • Dismount tires from scrap/return rims using wheel equipment.
  • Mount and balance new wheelsets with wheel equipment.
  • Clean and maintain machines and work area.
  • Log completed wheel sets with RF guns.
  • Check stock and inventory for components.
  • Use forklifts to retrieve parts for wheels.
  • Stack finished wheels on pallets for shipment.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Follow safety and quality control measures.
  • Participate in daily huddles and continuous improvement.

As a Tire Technician, you will be responsible for mounting and balancing new wheelsets for GM and Ford dealerships. You will also be responsible for dismounting returned scrap rims from dealerships.

SalaryOverview:

The pay rate for this role starts at $24 per hour based on experience.

Hours:

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm.

Tire Technician Responsibilities include:
  • Pull wheels and tires from the pull sheet provided by the associate pulling orders.
  • Dismount new tires from scrap/return rims using the wheel equipment provided.
  • Mount and balance newly constructed wheelsets utilizing the wheel equipment.
  • Clean and maintain the machines and the work area.
  • Use RF guns to log completed wheel sets.
  • Look up stock and inventory for wheel components.
  • Use forklifts to retrieve parts to assemble wheels.
  • Stack finished product wheels on a pallet by hand.
  • Use a fork or a hand truck to stage wheels to be shipped.
  • Assist other operational departments.
  • Adhere to safety and quality control measures.
  • Participate in daily huddles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Tire Technician Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent.
  • Consistent work history and attendance.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to adapt and learn innovative technologies.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Must meet company background check and drug screen requirements

Tire Technician Working Conditions and Physical Demands include:
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be okay with walking and standing for extended periods.
  • Minor potential lead hazard.
  • Ability to work in the heat.
