Job summary

Express Employment Professionals of Neosho is hiring a tire technician to prepare tires for installation, mount/demount on rims and vehicles, and ensure proper air pressure. You will learn and assist with roadside support as you grow.

Candidates should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and hold a valid driver's license with a clean record. Teamwork and safety are valued with comprehensive benefits available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tires for installation; mount/demount tires on rims and vehicles and fill tires to proper air pressure.
• Inspect and test tires for defects or damage.
• Assess repair feasibility and dispose of non-repairable tires.
• Repair tubes and tubeless tires; replace patches and components.
• Road test vehicles after repairs are completed.
• Align and balance wheels; rotate per mileage intervals.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on vehicles.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and tire machinery; use safety practices.
• Inventories and orders tires and related parts as needed.
• Training to perform roadside assistance.

Job description

Tire Technician:

Express Employment Professionals is searching for a skilled tire technician. By becoming an Express associate, you will have access to all our jobs. We are dedicated to finding you the perfect fit. Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares tires for installation; mounts and demounts tires on rims and vehicles and fills tires to the proper air pressure.
• Inspects and tests tires
• Examines and probes damaged, defective, or flat tires to determine the extent of damage and the feasibility of repair; and recommends the disposal of non-repairable tires.
• Repairs tube and tubeless tires by puncturing blisters, applying patches, replacing treads, removing nails,
• changing tubes, installing boots, etc.
• Road tests vehicles after repairs are completed.
• Aligns and balances wheels and tire assemblies to minimize wear on tires, and rotates wheels at prescribed
• mileage intervals.
• Performs preventative maintenance checks
• Operates and maintains diagnostic equipment, hand/power tools, tire changing machines, balancing equipment, and other specialized automotive tools and machinery.
• Practices safety methods in the operation of equipment and performance of duties.
• Inventories and ensures an adequate supply of tires and related parts; and requisitions/orders supplies as necessary.
• Will train to perform roadside assistance.

Skills Needed/Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have a valid license and clean driving record
• Positive attitude and work ethic
• Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
