Job summary

County of Dare in North Carolina is seeking an intermediate semiskilled tire technician to repair or replace tires on vehicles and large equipment under the supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.

You will repair and maintain tires and tubes, conduct emergency tire repairs at job sites, assist mechanics, keep tools and work areas clean and safe, and perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of hand tools, equipment and techniques used in the service and repair of tires and automotive equipment.
• Some knowledge of shop tools and machinery.
• Ability to detect by inspection any worn or broken automotive parts.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, and others.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, and maintains tires and tubes.
