Gills Point S Tire in Portland, OR is seeking a Service Technician II to perform tire services, preventative maintenance, and light mechanical repairs while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles, greet customers, explain findings, keep accurate service records, and help keep the shop organized. This full-time role offers training, competitive pay, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Automotive, tire, or mechanical experience preferred.
• Technical or vocational automotive training is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Familiarity with tire mounting, balancing, and repair equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy tires and equipment (up to 75 pounds).
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Mount, dismount, balance, rotate, and repair passenger and light truck tires.
• Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Recommend tire replacement and maintenance based on vehicle condition.
• Perform TPMS service and understand wheel configurations and tire specs.
• Perform oil and filter changes and top off fluids.
• Replace air, cabin, and fuel filters; complete vehicle inspections.
• Perform light mechanical repairs: brakes, suspension, steering, wipers, batteries, headlights/taillights.
• Greet customers, explain findings, and maintain service documentation.
• Assist with inventory, receiving, and keeping a clean, organized work environment.
