Job summary

GLS North America is seeking a Vehicle Scrap Technician at Milford Proving Grounds to prepare scrap vehicles for the monthly crush. You will drain fluids, remove tires and batteries, and break down tires from the rim, while safely operating a forklift and performing daily inspections.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 6am–2:30pm, with a starting pay rate of $18/hour based on experience and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, a 401K with

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Drain vehicle fluids.
• Remove tires, wheels, and batteries, including crating of batteries when necessary.
• Break down tires from the rim.
• Operate a forklift and conduct daily inspections.
• Move vehicles while operating a forklift.

As a Vehicle Scrap Technician, you will be responsible for preparing scrap vehicles for the monthly crush.

Salary Overview

The pay rate for this role starts at $18 per hour based on experience.

Hours

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pm.

Vehicle Scrap Technician Responsibilities Include

• Drain vehicle fluids.
• Remove tires, wheels, and batteries, including removal and crating of batteries when necessary.
• Break down the tires from the rim.
• Operate a forklift and conduct daily inspections.
• Move vehicles while operating a forklift.

Vehicle Scrap Technician Qualifications And Skills

• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to drive company vehicles at Milford Proving Grounds.
• It must be mechanically inclined.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
• Must be forklift certified or willing to acquire certification.
