Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Texas is hiring a Tire and Light Mechanical Technician to perform mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing tires for retail customers. You will also conduct vehicle inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and assist customers with tire selection by explaining features and benefits.

Responsibilities include basic brakes, alignments, oil changes, suspension work, and operating tire equipment safely.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Previous experience in tire or automotive service is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform tire mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing for retail customers.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance services.
• Assist customers with tire selection and explain product features and benefits.
• Perform basic mechanical repairs (brakes, alignments, oil changes, suspension).
• Operate tire-changing, balancing, and alignment equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow safety procedures.
