Job summary

Hertz Rent-A-Car in Irving, TX is seeking a Tire and Lube Technician to support our maintenance team. This entry level role focuses on preventative maintenance with an emphasis on oil and tire changes, using lifts and tire equipment under supervision.

The ideal candidate is a quick learner with basic automotive aptitude, holds a valid driver's license, and is ready to join a high-energy team with opportunity for growth.

Qualifications

• Entry level position; no prior experience required.
• Preferred prior experience with automotive repair (personal or professional).
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance with focus on oil and tire changes.
• Be a quick learner and use shop equipment (lifts, tire changing gear, alignment machines, scan tools).
• Maintain and organize tools and workspace.
• Support maintenance team as part of an entry level role.

The Tire and Lube Technician is an entry level position with the Hertz Corporation and is the launching point for our maintenance team. In this role you will be performing preventative maintenance, with a focus on Oil and Tire Changes. Must be a quick learner, and have an assortment of tools, including oil filter wrenches, socket set, and a toolbox to keep them in.

What You’ll Get:

• The hourly rate is $16.00 + median incentive is approximately $326/month, varies based on job performance.

Educational Background:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Professional Experience:

• Entry level position with no required experience.
• Preferred prior experience with automotive repair (personal or professional).

Knowledge:

• Must be able to perform vehicle repairs with oversight.
• Ability to use shop equipment such as lifts, tire changing equipment, alignment machines, and scan tools.

Additional Notes:

• Familiarity with the below tools (to be provided).

  • 3/8” and ½” impact wrench.
  • Sockets wrench - metric and standard - preferably long and short lengths.
  • Oil Filter wrenches and tools.
  • TPMS tool - reset tire sensors.
  • Combo wrenches.
  • Screwdrivers.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
