Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Kerrville, TX is seeking an Accountant I as Time Administrator to serve as the SME for payroll, time, and leave. The role requires coordinating timekeeping processes, reviewing reports, and ensuring accuracy of pay-related entries for staff at the Health and Specialty Care System facilities.

On-site work is required. The position involves training staff, assisting with leave programs, and maintaining adherence to agency policies and payroll

Qualifications

• Experience in state government is preferred.
• Experience coordinating work between organizational units is preferred.
• Experience using a personal computer for inquiry and data entry.
• All applicants must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provides procedural support to managers on time and leave processes.
• Enters leave taken and hours worked for staff from sign-in sheets.
• Enters FLSA overtime and comp time payments per payroll calendar.
• Audits leave records and maintains documentation for compliance.
• Develops training materials and conducts employee timekeeping training.
