Job summary

West Fraser in Georgia is seeking a Procurement Forester who can build relationships with landowners, loggers, and timber dealers to secure a steady supply of high-quality logs for the mill. You will be self-motivated, quick to learn, and ready to take on leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities include pine stumpage purchases, timber cruising on private and USFS land, overseeing harvesting operations, developing supplier networks, educating loggers on mill specs, and driving continual

Qualifications

• Experience leading procurement activities and supplier development.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with mill teams and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Purchase pine stumpage from private landowners
• Timber cruising on private and U.S. Forest Service land
• Oversee timber harvesting operations
• Purchase delivered wood from suppliers
• Grow the supplier base to meet mill needs
• Field visits to educate loggers on mill requirements
• Coordinate with Procurement Manager to ensure wood flow
• Collaborate with sister mills to meet enterprise needs
• Lead continual improvement initiatives with mill management

Education

Bachelor's degree in Forestry or related field
