Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation in Florida is seeking a Machine Operator I to support tile production under the supervision of the Production Supervisor. The position requires basic math, ability to read and follow simple instructions, and 6 months to 1 year of tile manufacturing experience, with forklift operation as a plus; strong safety

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, comprehend and follow simple instructions.
• 6 months to 1 year of color or tile manufacturing experience required.
• 6 months forklift driving experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility.
• Water Treatment: treat process water by adding flocculent to disperse solids; check pH before discharging to city; log discharges with supervisor approval.
• Sorter: inspect tile on the dry side and maintain the sealer area including cleaning the sealer booth.
• Strapping Machine: operate the strapping machine to secure pallets of tile.
• Kiln Exit Operator: perform quality checks of the tile and packaging.
• Clean equipment and the work areas daily; notify supervisor of any problems identified.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
