TIG Welder - Titanium Aerospace Parts: Prior Experience Required

Primary Purpose

This welder position requires TIG welding in a chamber under argon atmosphere on titanium castings for the aerospace industry. Prior experience welding titanium is required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Titanium TIG welding in chamber to repair castings, following all applicable procedures.
  • Using tools such as calipers, profile templates, etc., to accurately repair castings.
  • Collaborating with your team on rework plans to ensure castings conform to specifications.
  • Using grinders to shape tungsten.
  • Loading and unloading castings from the chamber.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Completion of a formal vocational program or more than 1 year of prior TIG welding experience.
  • Passing a welding test within 4 weeks of start date.
  • Passing an annual eye exam.
  • Ability to bend, lift, push, and pull (to handle castings) with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Basic high-school level math skills.
  • Ability to use small, fine tools.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention to detail.
  • Understanding measurements and ability to read measurement tools.
  • Teamwork skills and self-motivation.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • HS diploma or equivalent GED; relevant experience may be considered without diploma.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Solid employment history with over 1 year at previous employers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening.
Environment
  • Work performed under reasonably good conditions with some exposure to noise, temperature, and machinery.
Schedule
  • Weekend Day Shift (Friday-Sunday, 5:00 am - 5:30 pm) with $1.25/hr. shift differential.
  • Swing Shift (Monday-Thursday, 3:30 pm - 2:15 am) with $1.00/hr. shift differential.
  • Overtime based on business needs.
