Job summary

ND Defense LLC in West Point, MS, is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to perform GTAW on steel, stainless, aluminum, and alloys per engineering drawings and WPS. The role requires interpreting drawings, maintaining weld quality, and meeting code requirements in a production and prototype shop.

Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of TIG welding in manufacturing, ability to weld multiple materials in all positions, and AWS-compatible certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on TIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Ability to weld in all positions (1G–6G) on at least two materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T callouts.
• Current or recent weld certifications to AWS or equivalent code standards.
• Proficiency with standard shop measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, protractors, weld gauges).
• Must pass weld qualification testing.
• U.S. Person as defined by ITAR or eligible for export authorization.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys per drawings, WPS, and customer requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, tolerances, and work instructions.
• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment, selecting filler metals, gas flow, amperage, and torch configurations.
• Perform fit-up and tack welding using fixtures and clamps.
• Visually inspect welds for conformance to standards.
• Maintain weld certifications and complete test coupons per codes.
• Document work on travelers, routers, and production tracking systems.
