Job summary

Johnson Controls in Waynesboro is seeking a skilled TIG welder to join our team building innovative HVAC systems. You will weld on carbon, galvanized, and stainless steel, layout and fit parts, and operate plasma and oxy-fuel cutting tools in a details-driven environment.

You should have a high school diploma or GED, proven TIG and pipe welding experience, and prefer completion of an accredited welding program. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven TIG welding experience.
• Proven pipe welding experience.
• Preferred: completion of an accredited welding training program.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on carbon, galvanized, and stainless steel.
• Weld, layout, cut, and fit parts to meet drawing tolerances.
• Use plasma and oxygen cutting tools.
• Regulate current, voltage, and select proper tips, rods, and sizes for each job.
• Assemble complex standard products, including tubing layout and pipe bending.
• Clean equipment using hand or power tools after welding.
