Job summary

Specialty Fitters, Inc. is seeking a TIG welder to perform GTAW on stainless steel pipe and tubing, including open-root butt welds with argon back purge, to ASME IX / B31.3. Work includes shop fabrication in Elyria and local field installation, with tight cleanliness standards for high-purity systems.

Applicants must pass a weld test; local candidates within ~50 miles of Elyria, OH are preferred. Competitive pay ($35–$50/hour) with benefits and overtime potential are offered.

Qualifications

• Welding on stainless pipe using GTAW (TIG), open-root butt welds, back purge, ASME IX / B31.3 compliant.
• Reading welding procedures (WPS) and working to them.
• Visual inspection and potential NDE of welds; keep high-purity work clean.

Responsibilities

• Weld 2" schedule 80 316L pipe butt welds in GTAW; inspect as per Procedures.
• Shop fabrication in Elyria and local field installation.
• Follow ASME IX / B31.3 standards and ensure cleanliness and pass welding tests.
