Aerotek in Bartlett, IL is seeking a TIG Welder to perform high-precision welding and fabrication on exotic metals and new alloys. You will produce full-penetration welds with proper purge, ensure welds pass NDT, and work from complex blueprints to support advanced fabrication projects.

The role requires strong experience with heliarc and metallic arc processes, ability to read detailed drawings, and commitment to ITAR compliance. Onsite, with full union benefits and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with TIG welding on exotic metals and new alloys.
• Able to purge welds to achieve full penetration on thin-wall material.
• Welds in all positions using heliarc and metal-arc processes.
• Able to read and interpret welding drawings and specifications.
• Meet ITAR compliance requirements.
• Experience training lower-grade welders.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on diverse metals, including exotic alloys.
• Produce full-penetration welds with proper purging.
• Complete welds passing nondestructive inspection (NDT) tests.
• Operate in multiple welding positions with heliarc and arc methods.
• Assist development of new welding techniques to improve quality.
• Set up and lay out assemblies per blueprints and specs.
• Train lower-grade welders on welding processes and standards.
• Interpret blueprints and welding specs to produce compliant weldments.
• Support production and fabrication goals.
