Student/Recent Graduate TIG Welder

We have multiple facilities in Albany, OR, and are a world-class supplier of titanium castings and components for the aerospace industry. We are looking for current welding program students, those soon to graduate, and recent graduates. The Welder I TIG welds in a chamber under argon atmosphere on titanium castings for the aerospace industry.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Titanium TIG welding in a chamber to repair castings, following all applicable procedures.
  • Using tools such as calipers, profile templates, etc., to accurately repair castings.
  • Collaborating with your team on rework plans to ensure castings conform to specifications.
  • Using grinders to shape tungsten.
  • Loading and unloading castings from the chamber.
  • Keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of a formal welding vocational program.
  • Must pass a welding test within 6 weeks of employment.
  • Must pass an annual eye exam.
  • Ability to bend, lift, push, and pull (to handle castings in and out of the tank) with or without accommodations.
  • Basic high-school level math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to use small, fine tools.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Attention to detail with continuous mental and visual focus.
  • Understanding measurements and proper use of measurement tools.
  • Team player with self-motivation.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • HS diploma or equivalent GED required; relevant experience may be considered if not met.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Preferred: solid job history with more than 1 year at previous or recent employer.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background check.
Work Environment
  • Conditions are generally good, with some exposure to noise, temperature, and machinery.
Schedule
  • Schedule depends on current enrollment status.
  • Part-time schedules available for students.
  • Full-time shifts are typically swing or weekends.
  • Overtime may be available based on business needs.
