Primary Job Function


Performs all kinds of welding, brazing and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment, set-up, organization and performance of all welding jobs.


Note: This position operates on Day Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm)



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Reviews instructions, prints and travelers for the job

  • Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements, fabricates equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals.

  • Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment, cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded, sets up, assembles and tacks weld parts, builds up worn or defective surfaces.

  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly

  • Performs periodic preventive maintenance

  • Follows established safety protocols including required usage of PPE; helps to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Experience


Minimum skills, knowledge, education, certifications and related job experience that employee typically must have to perform essential functions of the job acceptably.



  • Minimum 2 years TIG welding experience, including aluminum and stainless

  • Proficient at blueprint reading

  • Understanding of weld symbols and preparation of material

  • Knowledge of fixture development and use; ability to store and track fixtures

  • Requires expert knowledge regarding physical properties and welding characteristics of metal, effects of heat, welding shrinkage, welding techniques and allowances for thickness.

  • Ability to produce sound, functional welds that are free of defects

  • Must be able to utilize all required PPE

  • Dependability; honesty & integrity; a positive, proactive attitude; ability to use time productively, working with minimal supervision.

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke and temperature extremes within OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels.

Pay and Benefits


Starting pay for this position is $18/hour - Higher Pay Available Based on Experience!



Our pay ranges are guided by the discipline, level, and experience required. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including desired skills/ technical competency, relevant experience, and advanced education/ training.
