A leading company in the healthcare sector is seeking a Machine Operator capable of operating machinery in a manufacturing environment. The role involves setting up machines, performing welding, and ensuring safety compliance. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills and a high school diploma or GED, along with relevant experience in machine operation and welding.
This position is responsible for the set up and operation of the simpler machines in Department 44. This includes assembly operations, drilling, tapping, grinding, painting and handwork.
Performs all work in a way that conforms to the Company's safety and environmental policies.
Operate grinders. Removes small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
Test and inspect welded surfaces to discover flaws Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout.
Perform TIG welding
Ability to read and interpret documents
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Blueprint reading
Welding certification a plus
Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. Safely.
