Job summary

Ferco Aerospace in Greenwood, Indiana is hiring for a full-time TIG welder on 1st shift. The position requires TIG welding stainless steel and Inconel per customer specifications, reading complex blueprints, preparing materials, and finishing parts for aerospace applications.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, welding experience, and a strong work ethic. Overtime is available during peak workloads; benefits include 401(k) matching, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld stainless steel and Inconel sheets per customer specifications
• Select proper materials and weld wire as needed
• Prepare materials for welding and perform fabrication steps (cut, grind, clean)
• Work from complex drawings or instructions with minimal supervision
• Multi-task effectively and maintain reliability and attendance

Full-time position with benefits is available on 1st shift. Come work for an aerospace business that continues to grow on top of record work levels, a history of investment into the business, and desires to be a world class business.

The ideal candidate for this position would be able to do the following and possess the following

• TIG welding stainless steel and Inconel sheets 0.035 inch to 0.25 inch thick together to fabricate aerospace parts to customer specification.
• Ability to select and identify the proper materials, including weld wire selection, needed to weld components.
• Prepares materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal. Utilizes fabrication skills to complete all phases of fabrication.
• Must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task

• High School Diploma or GED required (Proof will be required)
• Must have TIG Welding experience
• Aerospace Industry experience advantageous

Position Demands

• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and sit for long periods of time on a daily basis
• Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, etc.
• Able to successfully pass vision screens
• Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
• Perform repetitious duties, such as hammering a part to specification.

Schedule

• Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
• Overtime Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 5:30pm, Friday 6:00am - 11:00am
