Job summary

Ferco Aerospace in Greenwood, IN is seeking a dedicated TIG welder to join our 1st shift fabrication team.

You will weld stainless steel and Inconel from detailed blueprints, prepare materials, select weld wire, and follow customer specs.

Candidates must have TIG welding experience and a high school diploma or GED; benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching, PTO and holidays.

• Must be able to multi-task and have good work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Welds stainless steel and Inconel sheets 0.035 to 0.25 inch thick to fabricate aerospace parts per customer specs.
• Selects and identifies proper materials and weld wire needed for components.
• Prepares materials for welding: cuts, grinds, cleans metal; follows detailed blueprints or instructions.

The ideal candidate for this position would be able to do the following and possess the following

• TIG welding stainless steel and Inconelsheets 0.035 inch to 0.25 inch thick together to fabricate aerospace parts to customer specification.


• Ability to select and identify the proper materials, including weld wire selection, needed to weld components.


• Prepares materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal. Utilizes fabrication skills to complete all phases of fabrication.


• Must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.


• Ability to multi-task


• Good work ethic


• Willing to learn


• High School Diploma or GED required (Proof will be required)


• Must have TIG Welding experience


• Aerospace Industry experience advantageous

Position Demands

• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and sit for long periods of time on a daily basis


• Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, etc.


• Able to successfully pass vision screens


• Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.


• Perform repetitious duties, such as hammering a part to specification.

Schedule

• Overtime Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 5:30pm, Friday 6:00am - 11:00am
