Job Title: TIG Welder, $20-25/hr, Detroit MI

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled TIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in TIG welding techniques to fabricate and repair metal structures, components, and parts. This role requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The TIG Welder will work on various metal materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys, ensuring high-quality welds for both structural and precision projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform TIG welding on metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
2. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
3. Set up welding equipment, adjusting settings and selecting proper materials for each project.
4. Inspect and clean weld areas to meet quality standards.
5. Conduct quality checks on welded parts, measuring for accuracy and strength.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding processes and equipment.
7. Collaborate with team members, including fabricators and engineers, to ensure timely project completion.
8. Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and maintaining a safe work area.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Welding certification or degree.
3. Minimum of 3 years of TIG welding experience, preferably in automotive, construction, aerospace, or manufacturing sectors.
4. Proficient in TIG welding techniques and working with various metals and alloys.
5. Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
6. Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
7. Ability to work independently and in a team.
8. Good communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and supervisors.
9. Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials.
10. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, manual dexterity, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
11. Willingness to work in hot, noisy, or challenging environments.
