Summary:Responsible for the set‑up and operation of TIG welding machines.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.
1.Set‑up and operate TIG welding machines to weld metal parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts and verbal instructions.
2.Maintain accurate record keeping of settings from precision control panels or power packs for repeat applications.
3.Clean parts to remove contamination prior to welding.
4.Set‑up and operate all phases of welding applications using clamps, fixtures and torches working to specified tolerances.
5.Use inspection gauges such as calipers, pin gauges, tape measure, ect.
6.Follow blueprints to meet product specifications and maintain tight tolerances.
7.Change weld cups, electrodes and any other tooling to maintain quality and production standards.
8.Train less experienced employees in set‑up and quality production standards.
9.Assist in scheduling work load, and recommend tooling needs to save time.
10.Report production discrepancies to management.
11.Maintain tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
12.Comply with company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
13.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
14.Must be able to bend, stoop, sit, lift and be in awkward positions for up to 10 hours (or length of shift).
15.Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:
Prior welding experience required.
Skills:
Good mechanical aptitude; blue print reading skills; technical communication; good time management
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization in English.Technical communication.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
