Job summary

Staffmark Group in Hillsboro, OR is hiring a MIG & TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. Work Mon-Fri 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a pay rate of $28-$30 per hour, and the opportunity to fabricate and weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components according to drawings and AWS codes.

You should have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years MIG/TIG welding experience, and knowledge of blueprints and measuring tools.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical welding certification or completion of a two-year vocational welding program preferred.
  • 3+ years of TIG and MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS welding codes, symbols, and welding procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, squares).
  • Knowledge of welding machine setup and operation.
  • Ability to produce welds passing visual and destructive testing.
  • Basic math skills including measurements and conversions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on various metals.
  • Fabricate, fit, tack, and weld according to drawings and AWS codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Set up welding equipment per Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Position and align materials using fixtures and measuring tools.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform basic preventive maintenance.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Job Duties

  • Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components and assemblies.
  • Fabricate, fit, tack, and weld large and small weldments according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and AWS welding codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and AWS welding symbols.
  • Set up welding equipment according to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Position and align materials using fixtures, jigs, measuring tools, and layout equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Operate hand tools, air tools, grinders, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform visual inspections to verify weld quality and ensure compliance with blueprint and AWS requirements.
  • Maintain assigned welding equipment and perform basic preventive maintenance.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MIG & TIG Welder Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, push, pull, and grasp throughout the workday.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements during welding operations.
  • Close vision required for precision welding and inspections.
  • Must meet required vision standards for welding.
